WHAT: A trip to the spectacular Mount Kaputar National Park, approximately 3 and a half hours west of Armidale. Mount Kaputar is a 1500m volcanic peak emerging from the flat western plains, with a road to the top. There will be plenty of opportunities for bushwalking, climbing, scrambling or just relaxing around the campsite. A highlight will be the skyline traverse of the Yulludunida dyke an 1800m grade 3 (read easy) mega classic climb or scramble. WHEN: Leave Friday 18th September - Return Sunday 20th September  ITINERARY Friday o 17:00 - Leave Armidale travel to Narrabri o 19:00 – Have dinner on the way (stoop in either Narrabri of Gunnedah o 20:00 - Set up camp at Dawsons Spring (Mount Kaputar) Saturday o Climb at Lindsay rock tops o Explore the top of mount Kaputar and lookouts Sunday o Pack up campsite o Skyline traverse o Head home  WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING Gear/equipment: Plan to be self sufficient for food and equipment. Feel free to discuss with other attendees about sharing equipment, tents food etc. There are a limited number of tents, sleeping bags and mats available for club members if you do not have your own equipment. Fire wood is not supplied at mount Kaputar campsites and so anyone with a Ute to transport some wood would be great. Bring clothes (include wet and cold weather clothes – jackets, wool socks, non cotton based clothes etc.), food, cooking equipment, water, camping equipment, rock climbing shoes, harness, ropes and trad gear if you have them. Club equipment can be used otherwise. Nights may be cool bring warm clothes.  TRANSPORT As it is a significant drive, (3-4 hours) carpooling is suggested and the plan is to leave Friday afternoon after meeting at sport UNE. Hi All, As a bit of an End of Year (trimester 2) Celebration the club would like to invite all members to morning of bouldering and picnic at Gara Gorge Saturday the 12th of September. Catering will be provided with a plan for sandwiches, wraps, salads and snacks. Please advise of any dietary requirements by sending the club a message. We will plan to head out by 08:30AM to boulder, rock hop, cave and maybe a swim and then hike out to the fortress for lunch around 12:00.  Please respond to this event to indicate attendance.

Fun-Dress Climbing Night - Incorrect Sporting Event Join UNE Outdoor Adventure Club for a fun social climbing night with a twist: this time, the theme is Incorrect Sporting Event! Come dressed ready for any sport… except climbing. Tennis player, golfer, swimmer, footy player, cricketer, cyclist... the more incorrect your outfit is for climbing, the better. The night will include plenty of climbing, social games and challenges, with prizes up for grabs (including Best Costume). Whether you’re a regular climber or just keen to come along for a fun night with the club, all experience levels are welcome. When: Thursday 10 September, 5:30–8:30 PM Theme: Incorrect Sporting Event What to expect: Climbing, games, challenges, prizes and questionable sporting attire... Come along, get involved and see which sport proves the least practical on the climbing wall!

Cathederal Rock National Park – overnight walk What An off-track hiking/bushwalking trip, to a local national park with large granite formations  surrounded by dry sclerophyll forest and heath land which should be full of spring flowers.  Possibilities include - Exploratory scrambling to the top of granite domes - Exploring creek lines and hanging swamps Walk is planned to be mostly off track but can be adjusted depending on participant interest to  include more trail. Cathederal Rock National Park is an hour east of Armidale and is 2WD accessible. When: 29-30 of August 2026 Itinerary - Saturday o Leave Armidale early approx. 0830 (meeting sport une dirt carpark, near cadet  facility/hockey fields o Drive to Cathedral rock o Explore - Sunday o walk back to car o Return home Gear/equipment: - contact Andrew Woolley if you need or want advice or to hire gear from the club. Note there is a limited supply. UNEOAC are doing a Coffs Trip!!!  The Coffs Coast has a variety of adventurous activities for those so inclined. The main focus of the club trip will be to get out and check the Glenreagh Sandstone climbing areas (an epic sport climbing location!) however, potential side quests include exploring a few waterfalls, jumping in the ocean for a swim or snorkel, bringing a mountain bike and blasting down some of the trails around Woolgoolga and even visiting the recently opened boulder gym in town.  Campsites are booked at the Darlington Holiday Park from Thursday the 2nd of July through to Sunday the 5th. It is likely there will be some heading down on the Thursday and others heading down on the Friday for those that can't swing the early start to the weekend. As always camping gear is available for free from the club. Put in a gear hire request through tidyhq or message the club for details. What to bring: Camping gear (Tents, sleeping bag, sleeping mattress, swag etc.) Swimmers Water bottles and snacks (keep in mind fuelling for adventure activities!) Rain Jacket  Hat & Sunscreen Backpack Sturdy hiking shoes Climbing shoes and equipment (harness, helmet, chalkbag etc. also available through the club) Towel & toiletries Optional snorkelling gear, mtbing or other equipment for other activities

What An introductory overnight walk following two sections of the Gibraltar range world heritage walk from Coombadjah campground to boundary creek camping at mulligans hut campground. Walk will be on management trails or walking tracks. This walk will showcase the varied vegetation of the area covering both rainforest, granite heath and hanging swamps. Depending on time there is options for several short side trips to lookouts. When: 16-17 May 2026 Itinerary Saturday Leave Armidale early approx. 0800 Drive to Washpool NP, Coombadjah campground Walk to Mulligans hut campground Sunday Walk mulligans hut to boundary creek campground Return home Gear/equipment: - contact Andrew Woolley if you need or want advice or to hire gear from the club. Note there is a limited supply. Food 2 lightweight hiking dinners (1 as a spare) Snacks 2x lunches 1x breakfast Utensils Bowl/plate Cooking equipment – (can be shared or hire can be arranged) Water Will be available during walk but may require side trips. There is a tank at mulligans hut campground. Get keen for a day of cold weather bouldering out at the Stonehenge recreation reserve! We are planning to get out to Stonehenge recreation reserve which is a really accessible climbing location close to Glen Innes (about an hour north of Armidale). There is a great variety of bouldering at this location on granite boulders. The club will bring out a number of boulder pads and if you have one feel free to bring it along (the more the merrier). If not don't worry, you will just need some climbing shoes and a chalk bag (and a trusty safety beanie). If you don't have shoes or chalk again don't worry as the club can help out if you let us know. You will also need to bring out some snacks, lunch and at least 2 litres of water. Details will be updated closer to the event but we will aim to meet at 8AM on Saturday the 9th of May to carpool out to Stonehenge and get on the rock. Hope to see you there.
